I want to, and kind of have to, take classes over summer break. The problem is that I am pre-med and I don't have a lot of money so I can't do summer school at Cal, but I can at my cc. I heard that med schools hate it when you do this, but was wondering if they cared if it was English rather than science. I cant satisfy my R1B, but will this lower my chances. I could do history, but my counselor told me that my breath in history would be better spent at Cal as an added boost to my GPA. So is English at a CC bad for med school?

I have heard of people doing it, one of my friends who also met R&C through IB English A1 HL did it at CC.

Med schools hate if you take science classes at a cc, but I am sure they do not care about social science or humanity classes.

I don't think med schools care in general. Transfer students who do their premed requirements at CC's get into med schools just like regular freshman admits. It seems unfair since CC science courses are complete jokes compared to Berkeley weeder classes, but that's just how it goes.

If you did take science class @ CC before you come to Cal, it's fine!
If you did take any class @ CC before you come to Cal, it's fine too!

If you take science class @ CC after you come to Cal, oh no! not good!
If you take english/humanity class @ CC after you come to Cal, they don't really care!
