Pre-med at BC?

I WAS ACCEPTED TO BOSTON COLLEGE! I was just wondering how their pre-med program is? Does anyone know anything? I am very interested in attending a top medical school? Does anyone know how their pre-med students do? Any inside info? average mcat? thanks!!!

premed at BC is very good. Some very good STEM professors on campus, not to mention lit/hume/social science courses. Great, innovative Bio sequence. Plenty of opportunities for ECs, including on campus research. Of course, BeanTown and numerous bio-tech companies so there are plenty of off campus opportunities as well.

Average MCAT scores generally track average SAT scores of the college; thus, for example HYS have the highest average scores. It has almost nothing to do with the college, but your ability to take standardized tests (and your mcat prep).

Pre-med at BC can guarantee you early assurance admittance to Tufts Medical School. Are you aware of that? It is the best kept secret on the planet. http://md.tufts.edu/Admissions/Special-Admissions-Options/Early-Assurance-Program/Eligibility</a>

That website says that starting in the 2014-15 school year, only Tufts students can participate in the program.

it’s not a big deal anyway – more of a marketing perk. Early admission requires top STEM grades to be competitive, and with such grades, you would be competitive to many other med schools anyway. Moreover, Tufts if the most expensive med school in the country. So, if you attend BC, you might be much better off attending your instate med school at much less cost.
