Pre-med at Berkeley from College of Chem?

Is it possible to prepare for med school from college of chem?

I heard that the classes are rly hard and the competition is very intense.

Should I just switch to College of Letters and Sciences so it's easier to get a good GPA?

i wouldnt do it if you still plan on getting a BA in Chem, instead of a BS. because you will still be taking the same classes plus you will have to fulfill the breadth reqs when you could insteda be taking classes you actually enjoy

Yes it is. The Chem Bio major in Chemistry pretty much follows the premed planned classes and tacks on a lot more chem classes than you really need. But if you like chem and biochem in general then it’s probably worth it.

However, if you want to major in chem just because you think it will look good on your transcript then that’s not a good idea. Most premed that I knew in CoC transferred to L&S after Chem 4A.

I’m an incoming Chem Bio major, possibly pre-med. I actually like chemistry though, so i’m not as scared about the competition. Transferring is not that hard either, i heard.

can’t just like chemistry. you have to love it and be good at it to survive :frowning: which you are probably more capable than i am  im a chem failure
