I'm a Junior and I will be applying for college this upcoming fall. My overall application is pretty strong, and I'm considering either Cornell or Upenn. Does anyone know which of these schools is better for undergraduate pre-med and research? In addition, which one contributes more students to medical schools four years down the road? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I’m assuming you mean for ED.

Just go with whichever one you like more. Differences are negligible, though Penn’s grade inflation is probably more appealing.

I don’t know much about Upenn, but Cornell is overall a good option for premed.

Cornell has an incredible amount of research opportunities, and you can definitely get involved in undergraduate research if you want to. Overall, Cornell also does a very good job of getting its premeds into med school (see statistics here: [Cornell Career Services: Applied/Accepted Charts](<a href=“Medical and Health Careers | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Medical and Health Careers | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University))

The one thing to be careful about, however, is that Cornell will probably be more rigorous academically than UPenn (ie you will probably have you work harder for an A). However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing - you will most likely be more prepared for your advanced classes / the MCAT, and ultimately be more prepared for med school.

For more information, there are MANY other threads on this forum about becoming premed at Cornell.

Much thanks to the both of you.
