Pre-Med at Duke

So I am deciding about schools and am seriously considering entering Duke ready to take the Pre-Med required courses.

I know at these top schools there is weeding out, thats fine, I am prepared to work my butt off to reach my goals. My concern is that the Pre-Med track at Duke is overwhelmingly or unfairly difficult. Does anyone find that the weed-out courses can be just plain unfair, more difficult then they need to be to learn the material in depth? Does anyone who puts in the time get pushed away from medicine simply because they are competing with extremely bright students and not at a "easier" university with less competition?

I have talked to Pre-Meds at Duke who love the school and work hard. I basically want to know if the courses are unfair, and if a pre-med at Duke can be happy and still get to enjoy all that is so great about Duke

I wasn’t pre-med at duke, but a lot of my friends were. The pre-med classes are definitely hard, but I never once heard complaints that they were “unfair” or “unreasonably difficult.” I know lots of people at great med schools who partied a LOT at duke. Duke is funny like that–one day you see people having a fun at bars 5 nights a week, the next thing you know they are going to Harvard Med.
