I will be at Penn State this fall as a freshman with a major in chemistry/ pre-medicine. Penn State's med school acceptance rate is 75% while the national average is around 40%.

that's great.
um, i was also accepted into u of pitt.
in your opinion, which one's better?

Better is a subjective term. I think it depends on what you want in a school. Pitt is in the city of Pittsburgh, while Penn State is located in a town. Pitt has approximately 17,000 students while Penn State has about 35,000. I would personally choose Penn State because of all the opportunities available.

Penn State also has THON which is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, with all proceeds benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer, at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. After a year-round fundraising effort by the students of all Penn State campuses, THON culminates in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleep Dance Marathon in the Bryce Jordan Center. This year THON raised $6.6 million.

I would visit both schools if you can and see how you feel at each of them. Good luck with your decision.

unfortunately, since i don't live in the US, i won't be able to visit any of them before the may 1st deadline...

why do you think that penn state offers more opportunities?
opportunities for what, specifically?

Penn State has 705 clubs. It gives you the opportunity to do what you like.
