Pre-med at Pitt vs 8 yr. BS/MD program

I'm not sure how many of you on here are pre-med, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. As May 1 comes closer, I have to make my decision. I'm stuck deciding between going to Pitt for undergrad and applying to medical school or taking an offer for a combined BS/MD program (undergrad at Kean, a small college close to in NJ, and med school at Drexel). The thing that deters me the most from Pitt is the cost. I have a scholarship, but it is still a lot. I have also heard that the tuition will rise more than usual because the state is cutting funds to Pitt.

Does anyone have any advice?

I can’t forecast what impact the state budget will have in the future, but it’s most likely to lead to tuition increases, but to what extent, no one knows right now.

Regarding what school to attend, I have a question for you - would you choose to go to Kean if you did NOT have the med school guarantee? I know this is hard to accept at this point, but the majority of students going into school as pre-med majors will change their minds along the way.
