Hi everyone!

i'm a junior and have a 4.0 and i've been taking the highest (AP's) classes at my school

my SAT scores are low... 700M, 660CR, 640W
and I get my SATII scores this week

I have a lot of leadership:
-started the Pre Med Club
-president of Science NHS
-president of Red Cross Club

I'm in many more clubs, orchestra, and I'm a regular volunteer at the hospital.

I want to major in pre med and minor in spanish.

What are my chances for:
-Cornell (ED)
-Colgate
-Dickinson
-UVA
-UMCP
-William and Mary
-Juniata
-St. Mary's of Maryland

Unfortunately, your SAT score makes Cornell ED unlikely unless you’re disadvantaged (under-represented minority, very low family income), or have another hook (recruited athlete, legacy). But since you didn’t mention anything, I’m assuming none of those things apply to you. You never know though, you could be admitted if you had great essays, recommendations, and showed real academic spark. Perhaps make one of your essays about your passion for medicine and what made you want to become a doctor?

Is your GPA a 4.0 unweighted (meaning you’ve never gotten a B in high school)?

Anyways, here’s what I predict (it could be somewhat inaccurate though, because you didn’t give some other information):

Safety: Juniata
Good Fit: St. Mary’s of Maryland
Low Reach: UMCP, UVA, William and Mary
Mid Reach: Colgate
Mid-to-High Reach: Cornell (ED)

Best of luck with everything. :)

yea its unweighted 4.0.

thanks for your help tho. im definitely going to write about my passion for medicine in my essays.

thank youuuuuuu!!!

^Because it’s unweighted 4.0, your GPA could make up for some of the damage that your SAT Is did. So I’d say your chances for Colgate improve significantly, and Cornell, while still unlikely, is a possibility. I’d apply to all the schools you listed and see what happens, but you’re getting into at least a few of them, probably more.

Good luck again, and you’re welcome!
