Hi everyone!
I am extremely excited that I was accepted by Columbia (likely letter). I was pretty much set on going until I found out I got into Brown PLME as well. I have a few questions about Columbia as I try to make my decision; any help would be really appreciated.
- I know Columbia’s beautiful 90% med school acceptance stat, but does Columbia limit who actually applies? I know some schools don’t give cover letters for sub-par applicants. And of the 90% of people who get into medical school, roughly how many get into top 20-30 medical schools?
- How competitive are pre-meds at Columbia?
- How easy is it to get biomedical labwork?
- GPA-wise: How difficult is it to maintain at 3.7-3.8ish GPA?
Just a bit of context: I would be a Medicine, Literature and Societies major at Columbia. I’m interested in biomedical research, creative writing, and global health.
Thanks so much for any input!
