Pre-Med in McGill... good idea or bad?

So I really want to do pre med and my current first choice would have to be McGill for the moment however, I am not too sure whether it is the best idea as I would like to come back to the US for med school and I heard that the likelihood of getting accepted from a canadian pre med school to a american med school is very low. In addition, the McGill website has no information what their requirements are for IB undergrad pre med students so I am not sure what I am aiming for. I have many other colleges I would like to apply to but McGill is the only one in Canada and I am unable to find any information about it. I also read that McGill isn't one of the top ten med school's in canada itself, so that makes me question how good a pre med school it would be. Someone please clarify these points for me because I am so confused...

Also, is med school at McGill a 5 year program or a 7 year program?

Do undergrads only get one year of housing on campus?

Thank you.

You seem to have “heard” a lot about McGill, almost all of which is wrong. Who is giving you the information? Other high school students?

McGill med school is a four year school like virtually all North American medical schools, after completing a four year undergraduate program.

McGill provides housing for first year students only. This is the only thing that you have heard that is correct.
