I'm seriously considering going to the UK for an undergraduate degree in the sciences (most likely.) I'm a UK citizen so it shouldn't be too much of a problem with immigration...
The question I have is: Is it possible to take the required prerequisites, chemistry, biology, physics, calculus etc. in the UK? I've heard of schools like the American International University - Richmond, but they don't even offer science degrees. There are two other school's that according to one source offer Pre-Med degrees, but I am not sure if they mean actual Pre Med or if it's just the typical Medical school. These two schools are Middlesex University and Essex University.
If anyone has information on pre-medicine in the UK and if it is possible, please respond!
Also if you know of particular schools, that would be most helpful.
Thanks!

In the UK, we do not have to study for a medical degree as post graduates ie. we do not need 4 years of general collage studies to become a doctor.
In the UK at the age of 18, you can begin to study medicine, so techinally at the age of 23 you are a qualified doctor and you begin training in your specified field (surgery for example). The pre med degrees you were viewing are for people who want to study medicine but either didn't get the grades or got them but in non science subjects. The UK university system is a lot tougher than the US and is also much less expensive (due to government funding). We can study medicine from such a young age because in the UK, we begin to map out our careers at the age of 15 and specalise in subjects from 16 on. This allows a big enough knowledge base for us to go straight in to medical study.
I hope this helps and if you decide to come here, I hope you enjoy your time and that you enjoy the course whatever it may be!!!
