Pre med in WashU St. Louis

Hi I got admitted to WashU for biochem as the first choice...

I am not really sure about all the things about pre med so I'm posting this thread.

Can everyone admitted choose to do pre med? But wouldn't the University run out of advisors if everyone can do premed?

Or is there like another set of selective stages that premed wannabes have to go through? (like a new set of admissions process for pre med only)

If everyone could do premed if they wished, do admitted students just register for it when the fall semaster starts?

Thank you!

Anyone who wants to be premed can be premed. You pretty much will set up your own meetings with advisors on your own time, and there are a lot of premed specific advisors. Also let your general advisor know that you’re planning on pursuing premed when you are picking your fall classes.

Anyone can be premed. The reason that the school is not completely dominated by premeds is that the premed courses are extremely difficult and many people who initially want to be premed change their minds.
