<p>Please remind interested pre-medical students that February 25th is the deadline for the Huntsville Rural Pre-medical Internship at the UAB School of Medicine.</p>
<p>The main purpose of the program is to provide pre-medical students with exposure to the health care needs of rural Alabama. *The internship runs from May 29 to July 19, 2013, with 5 of the weeks in Huntsville and the other 3 weeks spent with a rural physician, usually in the students hometown.</p>
<p>Interns will receive a stipend of approximately $2,300 to cover the cost of housing, meals, and transportation. We arrange housing for the students while they are in Huntsville.</p>
<p>Attached is additional information and the application. *Please share this with students you believe are eligible. *Preference is given to applicants from rural and small town communities within Alabama, though all applications will be considered.</p>

<p>The deadline for submission of the application is no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013. The interviews for selected applicants will be held in Huntsville in late March 2013.</p>
