What are some good majors for those who are pre-med, or just looking for any job in the medical field??

I know you don't have to have a bio major for med school.

So long as you complete the requirements, it supposedly doesn’t matter. I have several friends who are classics majors and premed. With that said, having a stronger background in bio and chem than the requirements likely wouldn’t hurt. Bio, Chem, Neuroscience, and Psychology are of course all fine choices, but so are English and History.

Most pre-meds major in bio, biochem, or chem, since they have to take a couple years’ worth of those classes anyway, but I know some who majored in business (good idea), kinesiology, and even philosophy. As long as you can fit in the required chem/bio courses, you can major in anything you like.

If OP is interested in a job in the medical field, then a major in science/bio-medical eng appears to be the best choice. If one is sure that he/she can get in a medical school, UG major probably does not matter. Nonetheless, I doubt a student with Classics/English major would be able to pursue a career in the medical field if he/she does not make into a medical school. Of course, if an accountant in Merck is considered a job in the medical field, then anything goes.

Any major or couple of them in combo with any minor(s), whichever you heart desires. Lots have minor in music or other personal interests to relax, be away from interesting but very challenging science classes.
