I'm an incoming freshman to Berkeley hoping to go to medical school. I was wondering which math would look stronger for med schools. I've read/heard that medical schools don't care which calculus course you take between the two; they only want to see that you've taken a basic calculus course. I was wondering if there was any particular advantage for applying to med school if I take Math 1A over 16A?

16a is a lot easier.
And since med schools only look at GPA…16a should be fine

Math 10A and 10B course content may be more applicable to biology and medicine, so you may want to consider it if your major does not require different math courses.
