Hey, guys. I just transferred from a school in the Northeast (not known to have a "good" pre-med program) to UNC Chapel Hill (OOS). Due to a couple things, like having a hard time adjusting to my previous school and having to basically do the whole "college app" process all over again, my freshman GPA wasn't as "stellar" as it should have been (around a 3.5). I already know this is low for MS applicants, so I'm hoping to get it up to around a 3.6. I'm also hoping to get around a 32 or 33 on the MCAT, so for this scenario let's just assume that. I've heard, however, that the sci/math courses at UNC are extremely hard (with considerable grade deflation). I'm not really complaining, I'm just worried it'll be much harder to keep around a 3.67. I know I'm a smart kid and have the ability to do it, I'm just looking for a second opinion.

That being said, have I shot myself in the foot by going to UNC in terms of med school chances? Do MS really look at "upward trends" in grades (going from a 3.5 gradually to a 3.6+)? Any advice would be helpful.
