Ahhhhh guys I'm so sorry for making so many threads! But my advisers are being poop and just referring me back and forth....

S-so I am preparing for med. school and am on a Psych BA track atm. I've already done the Math 10 series (minus C), do you think its worth while to pick up Math 20 and go from BA --> BS?

Also, how big is the difference between Physics 1 & 2 series? Is 2 significantly harder, and do medical schools really care which series you take?

And would anyone encourage taking the O. chem lab (143A) concurrent with a 140A-C course?

Annnd the most confusing one for me...I scored a 4 on my AP Bio exam, so I've been given credit for BILD (or something) 1-3. Last year I took BILD 1 equivalent and it had a lab included, so I only need half a year more of Bio to meet the med. school requirement. Does that mean...2 quarters of Bio classes? And would it be better to take BILD 2 & 3, or upper division bio classes? :c

I'm trying to get an accurate outlook for the next two years, so again, sorry about all these threads;; again, thanks!

Having a BS is definitely more concrete when applying for med school, but I don’t know if it’s worth it for you to jump back and retake Math 20A and 20B. Plus BS is more rigorous since you have to take an extra two research based classes and a write a research paper as well. A BA certainly doesn’t hurt your chances of med school since you are taking all the required science/math courses anyways.
Take the physics 1 series plus its equivalent labs. Physics 2 can only be taken with the 20 series. Plus it’s not practical to take physics 2 unless you really enjoy physics/math. Most premeds at UCSD take the 1 series, and it is definitely easier than 2 series by quite a lot.
If you can get into the class and your schedule isn’t too overloaded, take 143A concurrently with 140C.
If you got a 4 on AP Bio, take upper div classes to meet med school requirements. BICD 100, BIPN 100, BIBC 102 are heavily recommended. But since you only have 2 quarters remaining, I guess you need to take only 2 of the 3 listed above, although I recommend you take all 3. You probably have to take another biology lab course.

I don’t think it’s worth going back and retaking math20. I do recommend you do a psyc199 for one of your UD electives (even though there’s no research requirement for the BA degree). You can take 143a concurrent with 140b, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have a question on using AP bio credit :\ I waived BILD 1-3 because I got a 5 on the AP test and I’m taking biochem and genetics to substitute. If a med school has an additional biochem requirement, does that mean I need to take even more bio courses to fulfill the requirement?

Thank you guys for the super quick reply, though I have just one more question!

I’m assuming having a BS won’t get me significant clout when applying for medical school…so, if I stick with a BA, that means I’ll have more time for non-major classes! c: Now I’ll ask if a BA in Psych and a minor in Bio would do me any good…since it’s recommended I take upper division Bio classes for the bio requirement anyways?

And don’t forget momosky’s question c’:

I really don’t think it matters for med school whether you get a BS or BA… as long as you fulfill all the requirements, you should be fine. Same with minoring in bio.
