pre-med program

anyone know how the pre-med program is here?
and how the science majors are? any rankings?

There's no pre-med "program". In fact, most schools don't have pre-med "programs". Take two semesters each of intro biology, general chemistry, physics, and organic chemistry, and you'll be set. Beyond that, consider some higher level biology or chemistry courses.

The advising for pre-meds is good, but like any advising system, you get out of it whatever you want. They're not going to hold your hand through anything. On the other hand, they'll help you go as far as you are capable of taking yourself.

The science majors are fine. People give them a hard time because they're inherently rigorous majors with deflated grading, but the departments are often small at the undergraduate level and students can get a lot of attention. Rankings only matter for PhD programs. You should be more concerned with the overall quality of the school.

cav, do you have a UVA medschool placement list/link laying around? I can't seem to find any year's stats!
