Ok, so.. does the UCLA medical school accept more of its undergraduate students? I mean if he/she has a good GPA, and MCAT... will there be a little tendency for them to choose the UCLA student? Does anyone have stats for this/pre-med schools?!

Well, it's a little bit of yes and no. There is a plurality of UCLA undergrad students at UCLA medical school(20-25%), but that's not to say that UCLA accepts a lot of its undergrads.

Note to OP Mind waiting more than 2 minutes to bump your thread?

LMFAO *** 2 minute bump. Spam is correct. 2nd is like Cal and then mostly the other UC's and what not. I believe this to be true because often your letters of recs come from fellow colleagues and people that the adcoms might personally know which would give you a bit of an advantage. Also, I would imagine that the highest % of applicants to the UCLA medical school comes from UCLA undergrad, so that might play into it. This is all just my theory though, no stats to back it up.

I don't know if this is true but I heard that they don't accept a lot of their own undergraduates. Why? Because they want them to become more diversified, go out into the world and discover new places, opportunites.

^ Yeah, AMSA med student mentor program. I don't think you can go wrong with what they tell you. Collegebound13, you are wrong, as Jinobi said, the highest % of med students at UCLA med are from UCLA undergrad, with Cal being 2nd.
