Pre-Med rankings?

Hi, I've been searching for a very long time, but I don't seem to find it. Is there a website that has an official list/rankings of pre-med colleges? I don't think US News has it; I've only seen best medical schools or pre-med schools that are personally ranked in forums. I would like an official list for this year. Thank you in advance.

No such thing. Any good college will be fine.

Hi, but what I meant by that was-- some colleges have more students who go on to good medical schools than others. I would like to know/see a ranking of those colleges.

Keep in mind, that may be because of the quality of the students, not the program itself. Also, these schools might just have more students that apply. It’s highly likely you’re going to have more kids aiming to be a competitive applicant at top ranked universities than someone at U of X - Unknown Campus Branch.

I have talked to multiple doctors, and a med school admissions officer when I was considering medicine. Where you go doesn’t matter anywhere near as much as HOW you do.

Okay, I understand the doing well part, but from most of what I’ve read online about pre-med, it also depends on what college you attend – like what this website says under ‘Choosing College and Major’, [Medical School: Advice on Medical Careers and on becoming a Doctor for High School Students](http://www.bestpremed.com/hs.php#BAchoice)

You are trusting the advice of a 10 year old website with pink font. It doesn’t justify or explain that comment. Updated or not in 2010, it doesn’t have my seal of approval. Don’t choose a college in hopes that it will help you get into medical school. Go with fit, you’ll do better in the long run. Asking schools what their pre-med acceptance rates are is ridiculous because so many schools essentially lie about it. ASU is a great example of how personal, not university, merit is what matters. Overall, ASU has a pretty low acceptance rate to medical school. Let’s face it, my alma mater isn’t Harvard. HOWEVER, if you break it into a small subsection of the university (the honors college where GPA’s and MCAT scores are much higher), they do very well. The fact is that there really isn’t any educational difference, it’s personal drive and quality.

 • Good point, that most just do not get.

search function.

BDM is better than search function.

^Agreed.

Also, the number of students sent to medical schools is deceiving because some schools (JHU, etc.) don’t allow some students to apply.
