Pre-med research; Cornell's lack of hospital

<p>Since Cornell does not have a nearby hospital, medicine-related undergrad research is difficult. </p>

<p>But does researching in say, a chemistry or biology field, give the applicant an equal chance when applying to med school as someone who performed research in medicine?</p>

<p>Very few undergrads do clinical research, which is really the only type of research that requires a teaching hospital.</p>

<p>Most undergrads, even those at colleges with nearby teaching hospitals, do basic science research.</p>
