<p>How good of a school is UIUC for pre-med? Are there many research opportunities? I know there's a hospital near campus, so doing volunteer work there during the semester shouldn't be a problem. Is there a pre-med advising program? On another post here, I saw a statistic that said approx. 45% of pre-meds who apply get accepted into med school. I couldn't find a source for that stat, and I honestly thought it was a bit higher, so can someone verify the accuracy of that stat? Thanks.</p>
<p>I was told my an admissions rep. that the med school placement rate for UIUC is about 60% which is 10% above the national average. I am also wondering the same thing about whether or not UIUC is good for pre-med hopefully someone will answer</p>
