Pre-med Schedule!!! PLEASE Critique!!!!

I'm going to be a freshman in college, and I was wondering if you guys could critique my pre-med schedule? It only includes the required pre-med classes. Major specific classes are not included! My goal is to have all of my pre-med reqs done before my junior year so I can have a whole year to prepare for the MCAT! Ofcourse, I will be self-studying along the way. Thanks!!!

P.S: What do you guys think about taking physics with orgo? Can it relaly be done or should i try to squeeze physics in over the summer?

Freshman Year

Summer

lool. aren’t you a freshman in college already? or is this for someone else?

I heard that it is not a good idea to take the required pre-med classes in a summer.

Don’t take classes before you actually begin school. Enjoy your summer.

I took physics and o-chem together. It’s all about discipline.

You don’t need a year to study for the MCAT, and you don’t need to “study along the way”. Do well in your pre-reqs, study 2-3 months for the MCAT, and do well on it.

I agree with jamestown… don’t take classes before your freshman year. Enjoy spending time with your friends–trust me, it’ll probably one of the last times all of you are all together.
Also, know that this schedule will probably change and don’t be afraid to change it… I was also one of those freshmen pre-meds who planned out EVERYTHING up until my senior year. And I haven’t stuck with that schedule since my second semester of freshman year ;)

mmmdowe: So it can be done, but is it really worth it? How much did u study for the two? I don’t want to burn myself out.

Well, the thing is I won’t be doing anything over the summer. Therefore, I can either get a job or start college a couple months earlier. And btw, I’m not taking the two summer classes at a community college; instead, it’s at my four year university. Honestly, you tell me? What do you guys think of chem over the summer? I don’t have to take pre-cal. I can just take chem and devote most of my time to it since it will be my only class.

I’m taking physics with orgo now, as well as some difficult bio classes. It’s tough but it’s definitely not impossible, and I got straight As again this past term. I’m taking the second course of each next term though so we’ll see how that goes. :-P

And regarding chemistry, it’s up to you. Do you live close to your university so that you can see your friends at home still? Also consider the fact that you will probably not know anyone in that chem class over the summer (though you can make some friends), and sometimes classes are easier when you have people to study with. When I did general chemistry I had a difficult time with calorimetry at first so I was grateful to have a friend teach it to me before the exam. Professors don’t always have the time to go in-depth enough into subjects for students to grasp all of the concepts.
