If I want to major in biology or biochem, which school would you suggest is the best to apply to?
Arts & Sciences
Agriculture and Life Sciences
Human Ecology
?

If you want a biological sciences major, CAS and CALS are your options. CHE offers a Human Biology, Health & Society major. Biochemistry is a concentration within the biological sciences major. All the relevant info can be found here: [Cornell Office of Undergraduate Biology](<a href=“Biological Sciences | CALS”>http://biology.cornell.edu/)

So, assuming HBHS is not a major you want to study, CAS and CALS are you options. Which one is best? Well, in all honesty, that depends on you. Are you an NYS resident? If so, then CALS might be your best bet because of the reduced tuition.

The biological sciences major will be identical, regardless of your college. The biggest difference, then, is the graduation requirements. CAS requirements are liberal arts whereas CALS requirements are heavy with the math and sciences. CAS students are required to take 100 credits within their college, and CALS students have more leeway.

I have to go check on an experiment…I hope this info helps for now. Post any other questions you might have!

I found that in fulfilling my biological sciences requirements, I was simultaneously fulfilling the math and science requires for CALS. If I didn’t have AP credits, I would have needed to go out of my way to take some social science or humanities to fulfill my CALS grad requirements.

Thanks for the help! It looks like I might apply to CALS and maybe alternate CAS
