Pre-med undergraduate at Cornell

If I want to be premed undergrad what major and what college should I apply to? Do i pick Arts and Science and then choose Biology in Society? Please help.

Also, should I take statistics or differential equations for a math senior year if I want to go into premed?

first off actually get into college, that si get accepted, before you even start worrying about med school.

With that said, major in what everyou want.It is no longer the case that you have to major in, let's say biology or biochemistry to go to medical school. In fact, most medical schools accept more non-science majors. The adcoms at medical schools really do not care what you major in. If you feel that you would like biology and society and major in biology an society.

Personally, my advice to you is to get accepted, and then take a general prereqs your freshman year along with other courses, ie. those in the humanities. Then you should know what courses you're more inclined to take and what field of study you would like a deeper knowledge in.

Are you just a junior in highschool? Wow. Slow down an enjoy highschool. Enjoy the fact that you will still have teachers who take every step with you; who makes sure you do your homework and understand the studies. And no you don't have to take stats or calculus to for premed while in highschool.

I mean most medical schools do require a year of calculus and some do all ap credits, but you can always take calculus, or differential equations, later on in your undergraduate career.

Don't push yourself to much in highschool. Your main goal should pertaining to getting into a good undergraudate school. You'll have lot of timelater to decide and learn more about medical school admissions.

Also if you're really dieheart about getting into medical school, i would suggest you look into one ofthose combined bs/ba-md programs. I know nyu and nu offers them.

hnbui: thanks for the post :); it is very informative.
