Pre-med vs. chem. engineering? so confused

I got accepted into College of Human Ecology
Can I major in HBHS, taking all the courses required for medical school and still take courses that are good for engineering? Basically, as a pre-med guy, can i still go to a top notch graduate engineering program after Cornell. How would this work? Would I just take courses like chemistry for engineers and stuff like that?

You could, but I’m telling you right now that your grades will suffer and you’ll most likely end up as an engineer.

It would be tough, if not somewhat impossible. First, you will have to take the HBHS required classes and then the extra classes required for premed (which will be demanding). Then, to throw in engineering classes as “electives” would be leave you little time that you are going to need to devote to these other classes because GPA is critical in med school admissions. Also, you should check with the engineering program to see if you can even apply to engineering grad schools as a non-engineer or whether you can even take classes without the proper prerequisites. You will really need to make a decision - engineering or pre-med. You could begin by taking an engineering class or two to see what you think of the program.
