Pre-med with merit?

Had not looked at them - but will now! Thank you!

We are in a similar situation with my D… looking for merit to save money on undergrad so we can help with med school (if she continues that course). You have good suggestions above. I’ll add Rhodes College (many opportunities through St Judes) and Furman, even though those are outside your geographic parameters. My D received great merit from CWRU, Furman and Rhodes EA.

Thank you! It’s so nice to hear from others who have already been through this process.

We tried to show many others paths to one of my lads who was “certain” from third grade on. He starts residency this summer and has loved every step of his journey so far. :sunglasses:

The bonus for us is it’s really, really nice having a medically knowledgeable person in the family. We have him taking care of our aging, another who excels at financial planning and IT, and a third who is into healthy eating - growing to eating. We didn’t plan it that way, but should be set as we get older!

Sounds like you have it all covered! And yes, my daughter was the same - convinced since second grade. She was my child who begged to go to doctor visits with my other kids so she could watch things like blood being drawn. She was fascinated when she was able to watch a baby being born when she was shadowing a doctor … she has seen things that I’ve never seen!

Best of luck to your son during his residency!
