I was wondering if someone currently at Johns Hopkins could help me? I am very interested in Johns Hopkins but I have heard some things recently which are making me unsure about my choice. I want to go to med school for sure and it's very important to me to get into one of the top med schools. Would Johns Hopkins be the right choice? Even though it has a high med school acceptance rate, I hear that doing really well as a pre med student is very hard. Is it really that bad? Would I be better off at a school which has a more relaxed pre med program?
Thank you!

Johns Hopkins undergrad has the best placement at Johns Hopkins medical school (Harvard and Yale are #2 and #3). JHU is an excellent choice for pre-med but there are many other excellent choices.

Pre-med is just an advising program with a set of required courses. I doubt that it’s harder at JHU than at any other schools, aside from the required classes having stronger students.

oh thanks! do you happen to know the other better options?

how do you apply for the pre-med program? all i see is natural sciences

Pre-med is not a major. Johns Hopkins offer an undergraduate pre-med program but it is not a major. It is an advising track program through our Office of Pre-Professional Advising. Any Johns Hopkins undergraduate student, pursuing any of our Arts and Sciences or Engineering majors, may also pursue the pre-med advising track. A complete list of undergraduate majors can be found here: [Johns Hopkins University Office of Undergraduate Admissions - Academics - Majors and Departments](http://apply.jhu.edu/academics/majors.html).

The Pre-Professional advisors work with both Arts & Sciences and Engineering students, providing them academic advising, assistance in selecting the proper courses, and helping with the medical school application process. Therefore during the application process, students interested in studying pre-med can choose any major. Additional information about the pre-health program can be found here: [JHU Pre-Professional Advising](<a href=“Pre-Professional Advising | Student Affairs”>Pre-Professional Advising | Student Affairs).
