<p>people give JHU an unfair bad rap. Is there grade inflation like Harvard/Yale etc...no, there isnt, so yes the grade you earn is the one you get. But i think a bigger thing is that there is a type of student that fits the Hopkins style and will be very successfull there, others wont be. Hopkins has resources that rival just about any school, but there is definately no hand holding. For the self-motivated, the self-driven, those who want to learn by doing, those who want to experience their chosen field(s) at its highest levels in action, should chose JHU, because that is the kind of student that will do well. </p>
<p>Its not for everyone, that goes without question, but without question a JHU diploma is respected at the same level as the other elite schools, especially in medicine (but not only medicine...science, politics, english, history, IR, psychology, language etc as well for sure). </p>
<p>Every top grad/med program understands how the top schools inflate and take into account that JHU doesn't. </p>
<p>And while we're talking strict med...if you look at all the best medical schools, many many many of the admitted class from all of them went to JHU every year.</p>
