Are the pre-meds prepared for medical school? I am really fascinated by Grinnell, and I'm starting to like it more and more. My only problem is that it might not have a great rep with medical schools.

Anyone have any input?

I believe it has an excellent reputation for sciences. The new science building is wonderful and even the intro lab programs are kept small so students get lots of attention from profs. Grinnell has an excellent rep for grad school in general, don't know specific acceptance rates for med school.

You can check the grinnell website and find out some actual statistics about grinnell grads' acceptance rates into the well ranked med. schools. I know the school has a pre-med advisor that makes sure each student is on track to take the necessary courses beginning in their freshman year. As Bethievt said, grinnell has a good reputation among graduate schools in general and I'm sure that medical schools are no exception.

Thanks. Grinnell is beginning to shine more and more brightly in my eyes, and the cornfields of Iowa seem to be a nice change from the disgusting pollution of my city.
