Quick Question - Do some people from MIT's pre-med program go onto medical schools like Harvard and other top schools? Is there any information on where pre-meds go to after MIT?

from what I’ve heard, MIT premed is pretty difficult. Considering that most medical schools care more about your GPA than the difficulty of the school you attended, a lot undergrads who did premed there got an unfair advantage in getting into med school since the MIT classes generally left them with lower grades than equal students from other schools like princeton and harvard. So… if you keep your really GPA high at MIT, you should definitely have a chance. However, attending a school with a more lenient grading policy would definitely be an advantage.

MIT’s available premed data is here. The 25 most popular schools to which MIT premeds applied are linked from that page.

I know several MIT alums at Harvard Med, both in the MD program and the MD/PhD program.
