How is the Pre-med program at GW? I know that GW is mostly known for political science and international affairs, but how does their pre-med program measure up against other schools?

can someone please offer me some input?

I’m pretty sure there is no pre-med program at GW. However, I believe there are pre-med advisors. I would assume GW is relatively strong as a pre-med school (even without the pre-med program) because of the GWU hospital on campus (assuming this provides internships/research opportunities).

George Washington University offers a 7Year BA/MD program for entering Freshman. It means you complete a BA degree in 3 years (most do biology, biochemistry, chemistry) and go straight to GWU medical school without taking an MCAT. If you don’t get in freshman year, you do have a second shot at freshman year, except it becomes 8 instead of 7.

Pre-med program is GWU is good. I’d say this because GWU is mostly known for political science and international affairs and medical school is average while their biology and chemistry program (not required, but recommended) are very good. They have University Honors Program and Quantitative Science program to fit your “pre-med” focus needs.

GWU did run into some accreditation problems in the past.
