Pre-Medicine College Help!

So I've gotten all my acceptance letters in, and I've narrowed down my school choices to Georgetown, Emory, Colgate and Case Western Reserve.

I'm going to major in Neuroscience in all of them, except for in Georgetown where I would have a Biology major with a Neurobiology concentration.

If anyone could give me an opinion on which school would be beneficial, it would really help me a lot.

My priorities lie in curriculum rigor, undergraduate research, internship opportunities and the prestige of the degree.

For pre-med, shouldn’t you consider:

  • Low net cost to save money for expensive medical school.
  • Pre-med course work that is good preparation for MCAT.
  • High grade inflation relative to the students’ competitiveness.
  • Availability of pre-med extracurriculars (shadowing and volunteering in medical contexts) and advising.
    ?

I’ve considered financial aid from the schools I’ve received them from and thanks to need based aid, all are reasonable. Also, my criteria included was curriculum rigor and internship opportunities (which kind of qualify as EC’s). Thanks!

I haven’t heard of any of them being particularly bad for pre-med (in terms of competitiveness/deflation) and all of them produce successful pre-meds so just go for the one you like the most/most financially reasonable. Med school admissions is overwhelmingly based more on gpa/MCAT than the prestige of the school that you came from. As long as you have those along with medical ECs like research, which all of them are bound to offer, you should be good to go no matter where you continue your studies.

Thanks for the advice!
I’m taking a liking to the institutions in bigger cities mainly because the medical extracurricular activities will most likely be there, but the view on having a good GPA and MCAT scores are very important and I’m glad you pointed them out.
