Have any Pre-Nursing majors heard back yet? I applied on October 30, and have not heard anything. I have a 3.6 GPA, an ACT composite of 27, and endless extra curriculars and community service hours. I also submitted three letters of recommendation, and my essay was pretty good, too. If anyone has heard back, what are your stats?

OSU doesn’t admit by major, so pre-nursing has nothing to do with it.
You’ll probably hear back sometime in January. Check the decisions thread for admitted stats.

question! when you say they don’t admit by major, does that mean not all at once, or it doesn’t matter what major you so chose, it’s just based on your stats that get you in. Because I was worried since it seems as though my major is much more “competitive” or well idk now haha

I believe he/she means that (for example) not all Pre-Nursing majors are notified at once. However, I know that different majors have different requirements. To enter into Pre-Nursing you must have at least a 25 on your ACT to be considered.

I mean I’m pretty sure your major is basically irrelevant, ESPECIALLY for something like prenursing. It says on the nursing website:

“First-year students: Admitted first-year Ohio State students who have an ACT composite of 25 or higher or combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1185 or higher may enroll as a Pre-Nursing student.”

Which makes it sound like they don’t admit by major, they admit by stats alone really. I can see that they might give attenetion to your major if it’s engineering or something, but for some reason I’m pretty sure your major is irrelevant. If you are admitted to the university as a whole and meet those criteria, you can be a prenursing student.

Prenursing is not competitive to get into (their competitiveness would be equal to what it takes to get into OSU), the BSN is, which you apply for during your prenursing year. 46% of OSU prenursing students are accepted into the actual BSN program. If you are an honors student, you are guarenteed admission to the BSN program.

I hope I cleared it up for you!

Thank you everyone! Does anybody have any guesses as to what my chances of admission are?
