Pre-nursing to Nursing School at Stony Brook University

Hi MR /MRS:

I know there are a lot of questions, it would be grateful if you could only respond to some of the questions. Thank you for taking your time!!!

I got an offer from Stony Brook University as AOI in pre-nursing ( area of interest in pre-nursing). I am not quite sure what that supposed to mean. Is this any differences from pre-nursing??? What are some specific actions do I need to take to secure my spot in nursing school? Like taking all the pre-requested classes.Or what kind of path will I need to go to enter the nursing school? How long do I need to for finished all my pre-requested classes?? I heard some people were not able to finish the pre-requested in two years, and they have to spend three years as pre-nursing students. Is there a lot of people who are not able to finish the pre-requested class in two years??

I did some research, and reach out to someone who has been studied in the Stony Brook in the same field. She said that pre-nursing is more like a track, and I will have to declare another major first and then apply for nursing school. I am really confused at this part, so I will have to declare another major for example, math. And while I am doing all the pre-requested classes for nursing school, I still have to take classes in math major???

Thank you and have a good time.
