I passed the Spanish Language AP test. Does that exempt me from taking the Spanish Language placement exam?

It depends on your score

So, yes, with a 4 or 5.

If you scored a 3, you will still get elective credit on your transfer credit report, but your language requirement will not have been met and you would need to take the placement test. With the online test you can place out of the first two semesters, and you can take a paper-and-pencil test when you arrive on campus to attempt to waive the third semester.

It also depends on your major though.

I received a 5 on my AP Spanish test but I still had to take the online foreign language placement test. But if you did well on the AP test, the placement test is a breeze.

I gave them a call and they said that I didn’t have to take it because I plan on going into Engineering.

Thanks for the info!
