How important are these? Are you lost if you don't go?

You should go. It’s an awesome time to meet new people and learn all kinds of stuff. At my school, it is manditory that you go.

Yeah you should go. You probably won’t be lost if you don’t but it’s a good chance to meet new people and will probably get you more excited for school.

Orientation is mandatory at my school too. It’s when we sign up and set up our class schedule for the fall/spring semesters.

Pre Orientation Trips - Are you talking about orientation or trips before orientation??

I think the poster is referring to college sanctioned trips that take place before the actual orientation. My college didn’t have them but some of my friends’ schools did and they sound pretty fun. Go if you have the time and they sound interesting. What do you have to lose?

Orientation at my school is not mandatory, and costs $125. It may be useful for a young or inexperienced student, but if the student in question feels comfortable and confident in making social and academic connections, it’s probably not a necessity. $125 buys a lot of ramen.

Thanks, guys. My trip costs $500.00, even more ramen. But they make it sound like its the only way to be a freshman…
