Pre-Pharm Programs

Im an incoming Junior in High school. I'd like to know how difficult it is to get accepted to Pre-Pharmacy.
Tips on which high school courses will give me the best chance to get in would be appreciated

Thanks

what do you mean by pre-pharm? Do you mean the direct programs that are like 6 years long? or do you just mean doing pre-pharm coursework during ur undergrad and after completeing a BA/BS applying to pharm school??

I mean doing the Pre Pharmacy coursework (2 years during undergrad) and then applying to Pharmacy School

??? I'm thinking the usual biology, chemistry, physics, and math which you would take all in college. What is there in high school? Gen Chem? Phsyics 1? and Intro to Bio...

I'd think you would need just the usual good grades and depends on the college you want to go to. At UMichigan...once you get in, you say you are pre-pharm. Its just 2 years of regular req's, a lot of em being the usual premed reqs, then after your soph year you apply...you need a minimum 2.9 GPA science and cummulative GPA and then you just graduate.

Thanks (filler)

My son is a junior in high school. He's thinking about a pre pharmacy program. As far as I can tell it looks like best to try to get into a 6 year pharmacy program. Does anyone know about the program at Univ of Pitt? We are from PA. Also how is the job market? When I think of pharmacists I think of the guys working long hours at CVS answering tons of questions. I'm sure there are other things you can do with the degree. How about pharm. sales people? Also how hard are these pharmacy programs anyway? Can you have a decent social life in school also?
