anyone currently majoring in pre-pharm? i was going to major in psych but i found out my strengths are in science and math so i switched to pre-pharm. however, my mom thinks pre-pharm major might be too stressful for me since it's quite demanding. anyone know what it's like? i'm a big schoolie and my mom is concerned i wont have a nice social life if i'm in the library every day for horus.

Depends on how you are going to go about getting there. My roommate is in pharm school now. You probably know that you can apply for admission as a sophomore to enter in what would be your third year. You do have to be very very competitive for that route though.

I don't know what the exact % are for how many people start in their third year vs. 4th year vs. get their bachelors, but my roommate graduated in 4 and applied during his senior year. So there's lots of different ways to get there. Obviously if you plan on getting a bachelors then you need a major, so you could take psych. I doubt that there is much disadvantage of waiting 4 years instead of 2 or 3 either when applying assuming your scores and GPA and involvement is where it needs to be.

No major should totally preclude you from a social life. That's just a ridiculous thing to let happen and you'll miss out on what makes college great.

What you'll likely find is that you don't have to study as much as you think for all your classes. Some you will, some you'll have to study more, but some you won't have to study at all for. And really, how can you study on a friday night anyway?

If you are really worried about getting enough study time in, the best advice I can give you is treat college like a job. Schedule your classes fairly early and then "work" from then until 5pm. You'll probably get everything done if you do that everyday and then you're nights are free.

yeah. the school i'm going to has a layout where one can graduate within 3 years and go straight in pharmacy school, but i might do the 4 year way so my classes are more spread out...
