I am currently a high school student planning out my college years. I am interested in seeking out experience to be a pharmacist. I was suggested to becoming pharmacy technician to earn this experience to help my admission into a pharmacy school. So far, all i know about this occupation is that you must take a state certification test. What i dont know is if you must have already graduated high school and must take some pharm tech classes to be eligible to take this test, or are you able to self-study and take the test. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It varies widely by state. You'd have to check with your state's board of pharmacy. New Jersey does not require a certification and I worked in a few different pharmacies throughout high school.

There should be a course at your local Voc Tech school that you can take.
