pre-physical therapy-NEED ADVICE!

Hi all, Dd is a high school senior, having to make her college decision very soon. She wants to be a physical therapist. She has been accepted into SLU's Direct Admit 6 year program, with a 14,000/yr scholarship. she is still waiting to see if she got into Marquette's 6 yr. program. (she received a 12k/yr scholly to go to Marquette).

Both schools, even with the scholarships, are still expensive. I don't think the scholarships extend to the final 2 years. My question is: Is it best to take the bird in the hand acceptances, even if expensive? Or should she go to a cheaper 4 year school, major in exercise science, and then apply to a grad school, which might be less expensive as well (depending on where/if she gets accepted.)

Thanks in advance. I hear the starting salary isn't great for PT, so a lot of loans might not be a good option in the long run.

"The average physical therapist salary in the United States, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, is $77,990 per annum as of May 2010 " per [Physical Therapist Salary Information](http://www.insertt.com/physical-therapy/physical-therapist-salary.html)

As you know, PT is a very competitive program to gain admittance. So, in some ways it would be great for her to know she is admitted to a PT program. What happens if she changes her major?

Do you have a good/great less expensive 4 year school in mind? My dd and I liked SLU better than Marquette.
