pre psychology and pre communications majors acceptance rates??

Okay, so i know that for the communications major, you need to have at least a 3.5 GPA. How hard is that to obtain?? like...what is the avg GPA of a student after their first year?

Also, does anyone know the average GPA for getting into the psychology major?? I know the minimum requirement is 2.9, but what else??

does anyone know the average acceptance rate for each of these two majors?

I heard that communications and psychology are the two most competitive majors at UCLA. If I don't have a good chance of getting into the communications or psychology majors during my sophomore year, then I think i want to go to UVA instead, becuase i know that i will be able to get into their psychology major and they have a good business programn. So...any insight or help about the psychology major and communications major would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much!

eh i think you're looking for the acceptance rates for the majors themselves, not pre.

and really, any incoming freshman has as good of a chance as any to get into those majors. if you know that that's what you want to do, be diligent, take the classes you need, and apply. provided you have good grades it should be fine. and i firmly believe that having that goal as an incentive is enough to keep your grades high.

for comm, i HIGHLY suggest becoming active in something comm-related, either on campus or in an internship, your first year. popular choices are the daily bruin for those interested in journalism, the tv station or radio station for those interested in broadcasting, ad team for those interested in advertising, etc. expressed interest in the field is taken into consideration upon review, even though grades are the primary factor. all of the people i know who got into comm as a freshman (going into 2nd year) went above and beyond just taking comm 10.
