Hello, so a course I planned to take is not offered at my CC anymore, but it is offered at a CC a little distance away. Is it looked down upon by the UCs for taking a pre-req not at a CC originally planned but at a different CC? Am I allowed to do this? Thank you

You can take courses at more than one CC. Some ASSIST reports even suggest taking needed courses at some other CC.

For example, [ASSIST Report](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST) suggests that students at College of Alameda take a course at Laney College to complete the CS 61B equivalent (oddly, it does not mention that Laney College also has a CS 61A equivalent).

Thanks for the input. In order to register for the class at another CC, I would need to apply since it’s not in the same district. In addition to the class that’s not offered at my CC anymore but listed under ASSIST pre-req list at my CC, the other CC offers another pre-req that was never offered and listed under ASSIST pre-req list at my CC.

Now, would I be held accountable for taking that class as well for pre-req since I’ll become a student at that other CC as well? Like on ASSIST, my CC doesn’t have the pre-req listed but the other CC does, and since I’ll be attending the other CC to for the pre-req I planned on taking, am I responsible for taking that other pre-req that’s not listed at my CC but listed under the other CC? By the way, I’ve already applied and this is my last semester.

Thank you for the help

ASSIST does list articulations for courses at CCs that rarely offer them, or have not offered them in a while. If you are concerned, you may want to ask the UC and CSU campuses you applied to (though the ASSIST reports should indicate what courses are required and what are recommended to take if available).
