Hey, has anyone gotten notified about their prescreen acceptance?
I know someone who got not so good news yesterday.

Still waiting - it’s very stressful!

Waiting…

So far:
Westminster Choir College - early audition - accepted with 14K per year scholarship
CCM - prescreeening - email today - accepted
Manhattan - prescreening - eamil to check portal declined

We know someone who had bad news today, but we have not heard.

I received an email today with an audition confirmation and schedule!

Still waiting to hear…

My mistake, since I apparently can’t delete my last post I will correct it. I heard back for voice pre-screening, not musical theater! Sorry for any confusion!

I think BelCantoMom is also VP, not MT (b/c CCM doesn’t have a prescreen for MT, and she said she heard back on the CCM prescreen). So, fourkorz, I have only heard of Indiana prescreen rejections for MT so far. We are still waiting as well…best of luck to you!

Just got a yes for my ds’s prescreen. Good Luck everyone!

Thanks, Ewanes and congrats. How were you notified? Email?

Thank you so much. It is a nice way to begin the holidays. We received the notification by e-mail. I hope others get good news soon.

Hi Ewanes. Was the prescreen acceptance for VP or MT?
Apparently they haven’t sent the MT’s yet???
(Unless the person I spoke with was confused. Very possible!)
Just wondering because this last prescreen has really become a pain. ALL the other prescreens have come back quick. It’s extremely frustrating to wait 2 months for this.
We may have to scratch this school:(

md311mt, I’m still waiting for an MT decision, too. I know at least one MT applicant who got a no about a week ago. But we have heard nothing. (We’re still waiting for Steinhardt as well…they haven’t even viewed my D’s videos yet! But looking back at last year’s posts, it looks like they will let us know the first week in January.) I agree it is late for both of these schools, and going to be very difficult to squeeze in an audition if it’s a yes. And get plane reservations!

md311mt and monkey13, it was for MT, but remember, I’ve got a boy. They are fewer boys applying, possibly one boy for every three girls or even four girls, from what I’ve read. It’s probably just a matter of the time it takes to get through the stack. We are still waiting on NYU Steinhardt, too. That will be our last prescreen, so it’s good to know it may take until January, plus with Sandy, it’s probably been challenging in NYC. Anyway, I hope you hear soon and don’t have to wait through the break. Honestly, the waiting is the worst so I feel for you and hope you get good news very soon!

My son is still waiting… he got past the U Mich pre-screen so we’re hopeful about IU. I’m wondering if the MT department waits for the regular University admissions decision before committing? Did you hear from the general IU admission before the MT? My son’s IU admission decision was delayed until we got the nod today (there was confusion about his transcript because he attended 2 high schools), so we’re hoping the MT pre-screen decision will be close behind…

Fourkorz, we just got our invitation to audition at IU late last night. I think, b/c the submission was a DVD, the invitations are one by one and the order is somewhat random. Also, they did give us the audition date that we chose months ago, so everything is fitting nicely into our schedule. Phew.

We heard about the academic admission decision a long time ago, so I don’t think they wait. I’m sure you will hear today, or latest, tomorrow. Good luck! What day are you all going? We are scheduled for 2/16.

So Steinhardt is the last piece of the puzzle for us too. That is the one I am most worried about fitting in if my D passes the prescreen, b/c we didn’t get to select a preferred audition date and we are now booked on all the days. We may be able to squeeze something in over NY Unifieds weekend, but I imagine everyone will be trying to do that. So, NYU may get taken off our list simply b/c of inability to schedule an audition. So sad. I really was excited about that program.

My son received his audition invitation late last night as well.
I agree that the DVD vs download process could have slowed things down a little.
This one was starting to make me crazy! We finally have everything organized.
Best of luck to everyone with this wacky process. We will be at Indiana 2/2 ahead of Chicago unifieds.

Break a leg to your son, md311mt! Please come back and let us know how the audition was. Indiana has a fabulous program!

sadly, negative news on our front from IU…

Oh well, many more opportunities to come. Break a leg to all of you who get a chance to audition! IU really is a great place with an impressive program.
