@SavsMom I didn’t think UCO required a pre-screen (I am assuming that is what you meant by Central OK), so are you saying D has already been admitted into the program?
Thanks!

D submitted UMich mid-Sept., and we heard beginning of Nov.
Good luck!!
@WDWMom same timeline as @MTSthistime for UMich D submitted mid-Sept and heard back the first week of November.
We did live prescreens and/or First and Final auditions at CAP last weekend–UCO called back, and Montclair, Shenandoah and Webster did not.
Gosh ya’ll I don’t seem to know how to tag the original poster’s name in my response (newbie issues!!)
Regarding offers for BFA programs–yes, Rider, Wright State and another have made offers/accepted DD into their MT programs and into universities with academic scholarships offered at this point.
The majority of DD’s prescreen passes were digital submissions–even though we’ve been told that kids fair better in live auditions. What is ya’ll’s experience with that?
So is it a faux pas to actually name schools that have made offers? I think I read somewhere that schools don’t like that??
Yes. Muhlenberg is a NON-audition school. She was accepted to the university. Safety school for my D.
I REALLY question the live vs. digital advice. My D is doing the majority of her pre-screens live, and we have regretted and/or questioned that almost continuously. She was healthier in August, and we could film them so many times. She has done 4 on-campus auditions, and she was sick at two of them. She has more this weekend, and is on steroids and antibiotics. I also think that some of her live pre-screens are LATE and colleges are definitely getting more picky about letting kids thru. We will see.
If I had to do it again, I think we would have done ALL of her schools as digital pre-screens and gotten them in EARLY.
Just my opinion…
I think it may only be a faux pas if the school is generally not admitting, but made an exception for your D. It also could identify you more than you want on the internet (if they have only accepted one or two kids, KWIM.) Only tell what you are comfortable telling.
U Mich responded our prescreen in 3 days. We didn’t know until today when we checked the email promotion folder. So I suggest to check all your folders if you haven’t heard from them.
So now I’m wondering if I’m misinterpreting what we’ve received! the letter we got says:
Congratulations! On behalf of the trustees and faculty of _______ University and ________ College of the Arts, I am pleased to accept you for admission into the B.F.A. in Musical Theatre program in the School of Fine and Performing Arts beginning Fall 2020. Your talent, along with your application, test scores, and recommendations proved to us you have already achieved considerable skills and have the potential for growth.
It never says it’s contingent upon" auditioning" for the program etc (which we did and interviewed etc).
So what do you make of that?? Is that acceptance into MT program? Let me know if I shouldn’t post this kind of stuff–have no idea.
It sounds to me like your D was admitted. Congrats!!! FWIW, my D has been admitted to two programs already. She is just not comfortable with me sharing that info on here, yet. I totally understand your situation.
@SavsMom it sure sounds like a definite acceptance to me. CONGRATS! ?
Thanks WDW MOM! I looked around on here at past years and it appears most schools notify in the spring–so I’m glad to know you got some acceptances into MT programs too. I guess they can do that early if they want. It’s all so confusing to me.
I will add to the prescreen results:
Pass: Emerson, BOCO, Fredonia, Temple
No: Syracuse, Rider, CMU
Waiting: Elon, Ithaca, Penn, CCM
I think some schools have rolling admission, ED, or EA and that is why some are finding out early. Congrats!!
What does “BAL” mean??
How do we find out about Combines in NYC? My D is attending NYC Unifieds and may have time to attend Combines if we know where it is and what schools are attending…

I am not understanding this. Your daughter was already accepted at Muhlenberg? For this admissions cycle? How is that possible? Muhlenberg offers ED and RD. For ED, the admissions notification date is Dec. 15. Nobody would have a decision by now. Further, if the applicant applies under ED, and is accepted, they are committed to attend. If the applicant applies RD, they will not get their decision until March 15. Can you explain? Thank you.
@SavsMom You have Marymount as a pass when they don’t do prescreens, we simply scheduled our audition - I hope we are correct about that!
Also - how did you get a BFA acceptance with Rider when their on campus and unifieds haven’t started yet? (Our audition isn’t until February)
Thanks for any clarification!
I think BAL means “Best A Luck” (someone correct me if I am wrong). I have also seen BOL, which is where I got my guess.
