Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

Yes, I got a prescreen pass email today. So the status update is faster than the email.

@Jenny1993 , we submitted for Indiana on 11/6.

BogeyW–We did go to CAP, and our three acceptances came after that. Most of our prescreen passes came through the digital submissions. CAP is a mix of live prescreens, callbacks if you submitted videos earlier, and first and final–with all of them reserving the right to call you back to the campus if they need to. It’s very well run, it’s a good experience and all said and done it will alleviate some but not all of your audition travel. There were 34 schools there–16 of which my daughter was interested in. I will say that she was the 88th kid to audition each day, and that was not ideal. She got called back to all but 4 of the schools she was interested in, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still have to go to Unifieds/campus for some of them.

I’m getting a little confused about the artistic recommendation letters. Can anyone tell me definitively if Elon & Penn State ask for them? I checked the websites, and accepted, but can’t find anything about artistic recommendations. If we were asked at some point and provided email addressees we wouldn’t necessarily know if our recommenders have submitted and Penn State has to have everything turned in by 11/30. (a post with schools that do and do not require artistic recommendations, and how they want to receive them, would be super helpful!) Thanks in advance guys!

@SingerDancerMom , I don’t know about Elon, but Penn State doesn’t require them. I emailed back in September and asked that same question, and got confirmation that they don’t require them. HTH!

Is anyone still waiting on Indiana? Submitted on 10/25 and haven’t heard anything.

Does anyone have experience with the digital auditions? Specifically, do the schools generally wait until after all auditions have been completed to determine whether or not to accept the student, or is it on a case-by-case basis? I can’t find a lot of information on the school websites about this. My D applied digitally to Marymount Manhattan and Hartt.

@ElizaDoolittle, Thank you!

@PNWdrama my D received a wait list email from a school she had to apply to digitally. Western Carolina states that they view video auditions on the dates they have their regular auditions - we sent before their 11/9 audition date and she received an email after that. I have a feeling that a lot of those video auditions they lump into a “waitlist” pool and use those to pull from once they start getting kids saying they aren’t accepting a regular offer. Someone else on here got off the waitlist from a video audition last year. I would imagine though it depends on the school

Last year DS got in to both Rowan and UArts with digital auditions

i am confused and wonder if anyone could help. My S received an email a few weeks ago pretty soon after submitting his Prescreen to CCM stating that his audition had been scheduled and he was given a date and time. Today he received an email stating that he was not invited for an audition. Of course he is following up but i just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience

@cs01234 the first confirmation was confirming your preferred audition date and time from when you completed the forms that CCM required as part of the application process. It’s definitely confusing, I agree. They really should just send out a notification of the date ONCE they’ve made a decision to invite you to audition.

@cs01234 Did the email you received the first time have the message that you would be charged $100 if you had to change the date/time? If so, we definitely took that as a pre-screen pass too. Now reading your message I’m concerned. Already arranged travel based on that.

Yes it’s stated that we would have $100 fee if we changed it gave us his itinerary for the day it looked nothing like a confirmation of his choice for an audition but rather that his audition was scheduled with details on the date and what would happen our to our. He is following up with them because we to have arranged to travel as it was scheduled in New York only a couple of weeks into January maybe three weeks into

Wow, we already arranged travel based on that same email. It DEFINITELY looked like a pre-screen pass to me. I understand your confusion over this second message. I would call for sure. As if this process isn’t stressful enough! :frowning:

On the CCM email… I just had her go back and look at the verbiage. Her subject is “Your CCM audition has been scheduled”. The body of the email starts with “Dear XX, We have registered you for your College-Conservatory of Music audition, and here is your itinerary:…” I did book travel once we got this. Heaven help me if we get another email that says we are not invited. I think I would lose it. LOL

Thanks for checking. Yes, that is verbatim the email we got several weeks ago. Hopefully the school will be able to clarify. And perhaps it’s more to do with his academic admissions now that they have reviewed everything and not just the prescreen. I just don’t know but appreciate your responses so much!

Has anyone received an invitation to audition in person for NYU Steinhardt MT? After submitting early and not hearing anything, my D reached out and the answer was we have everything we need and do not need you to attend an in-person audition. Can anyone share their response from NYU Steinhardt (BMVP-MT)?

Also, D was notified today that she passed the prescreen for MSM.
Thanks All!!

Has anyone that sent a prescreen to
ECU heard from them? How long did it take? My son sent his the beginning of November and has yet to hear anything. Other then Elon and Penn State which we know won’t be until January he got responses from all the others. He sent in an application a week ago too and no confirmation or portal info. either. So can’t even look up any info that way so it’s frustrating so I guess he’s going to have to call but thought I’d check here anyway.

@Shel325 My daughter got a pre-screen pass in 3 days from ECU. She submitted in November. (Sometimes I think it’s just lucky timing).
@cs01234 I called CCM…That email IS the pre-screen pass, so hopefully it was a just an unfortunate email mix up and your son is all set.
