Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

@onette Last year someone we know personally got an “in the room” acceptance from Pace at Moonifieds. Don’t know about this year.

Hello all  Daughter is worried she is behind the 8 ball as she waited until the very last possible moment to submit things - she just couldn’t get it done with all of her performances in the fall and all the other typical “school stuff”…as a general rule of thumb, how long is the pre-screen waiting period - and do you think it will be longer given she is at the end of the cycle? She submitted pre-screens to: BostonConservatory, Shenandoah, and Ithaca. BoCo is definitely a reach/dream for her…she seems to be leaning towards Shenandoah and is very impressed with their program.

Ithaca responded in a week. My D just applied to Shenandoah yesterday. We have been waiting on BoCo for a month.

@msullivan, we submitted on 11/11 and got a response on 11/25 from Shenandoah.

Who said they heard Pace was looking for “edgy” students this year? Can you tell me where you heard that? My D got a callback and could be considered an “edgy” performer, but I’m interested in hearing more before her callback, if you have any more to tell.

@mamaboyz @MTdreamin I was asking because someone is publicly posting their student got Pace acceptance and scholarship (including artistic). But I didn’t think the artistic acceptances had rolled out yet. But, I guess it is possible if they participated in Moonifieds, to get an “in the room” acceptance. Thank you!

I saw a fb post yesterday from a school in the DFW metroplex area who was saying one of their students (a boy) had received an acceptance and a scholarship to Pace. I was thinking he might have been a Moonifieds kid as well.

Whats a metroplex? lols

@mamaboyz - Dallas - Ft. Worth is called “the metroplex”…I have no idea why…LOL!

@WDWMom That’s the one I had seen posted. Are you in the DFW area?

@onette My D got a Pace acceptance today with merit and honors program scholarships. However, she applied for tech/lighting design and has an interview scheduled in February, so this had to be an academic acceptance only.

PS Coincidentally, we are in Dallas. No clue why it’s called “Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex” but I have heard that term here my entire life…mostly from weather forecasters! ?

Yes!!!

My DD passed Carnegie on Monday and Millikin today . Having a problem scheduling audition for Millikin, all audition dates at Chicago Unified, even if it is showing available spots, cannot be scheduled - emailed the school.

@WDWMom @Loganator me also! in Allen…

@NeensMom two weeks for a yes from Rider. Check the Be A Bronc portal though - they sent us a question to answer (would he consider another major) before the prescreen would be submitted. There was no notification that they needed something from us to proceed, so I am glad I kept checking that portal!

@NeensMom My son got a pass from Pace and we would hardly consider him edgy - 100% boy next door, haha!

Just got a prescreen YES from Michigan!! Yeehaw!
That’s my daughter’s dream school so she’s super pumped!
And yes, we know it’s a lottery school, but her coach thinks she has a decent chance. We know the odds, but one can dream, right? We’re trying to stay grounded and realistic throughout this process. Just reading this forum makes me anxious about what we’ve gotten ourselves into. She’s feeling positive because her prescreen video submissions have been very successful (15 yeses, 0 no’s). Recording these videos with a perfectionist daughter was a grueling experience. Ugh! Still haven’t done NYU yet.

Nice to see some DFW metroplex folks on here! I’m near Lewisville/Flower Mound. Metroplex refers to the fact that it includes two major cities and surrounding cities too.
Regarding Pace–my daughter isn’t edgy and she got a yes from Pace. I think they look for kids that are unique and have big personalities (that’s what a coach told me).

@SavsMom I say yes, now is the time to dream! I mean, someone has to get into these schools -right? My D20 has a lottery school on her list too because why not. I think she would have been more upset with regret had she not gone for it. We don’t really talk about that school much, have not even visited (if she gets an invite to audition we can see it then), is not even mentioning it as one on her list to many people. Also, I think it is a great experience for this career that our children are wanting to pursue. There will be many roles they will reach for and not end up getting and then, hopefully, there will be those they do get.

Also, @SavsMom Congrats on the prescreen “yes” and BAL at auditions!

@SavsMom when did you submit the prescreen for Michigan? Also CONGRATS to your daughter! Michigan is my dream schools as well!!
