Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

Daughter got a note from the Director thanking her for the submission:

“Much thanks for this — we’ll be processing pre-screen auditions as quickly as we can.
Thanks for you interest in musical theatre studies at CU Boulder !”

No idea if this is a good or a bad sign…

@looney20. I think it sounds good. Anything that isn’t a NO is a positive to me!

Question… my son has a friend who weeks ago announced acceptance to Tisch drama. Is that even possible? I believe it was before auditions. I’m worried that he applied ed and got into NYU and may have misunderstood the acceptance. From our experience notifications go out in spring with studio assignments in May

@mauidad I don’t think he misunderstood. I know a few people personally that applied ed to NYU Tisch Drama, and got accepted like a week or so ago. So they have to have a few auditions in the fall.

We just found out about Tisch Drama ED late afternoon on Thursday, 12/12. Auditions were in mid-November. I can only speak for ourselves that we found out on the timetable they advertised.

@mauidad NYU ED decisions were released last Thursday, December 12.

CCM no today—email directing to portal.

@MTisNutz I wish I would hear from CCM - STILL WAITING!

My D got a no today from CCM… this was her top choice/hope. It stings

Sorry for the CCM "No"s, @lkcmom and @MTisNutz. This process is hard on them (and us!). @DramaLove2020 - in the past no news from CCM has been “not bad” news. They will sometimes take a while making up their minds.

@soozievt Sorry for not responding. I was mistaken. She has NOT been accepted to Muhlenberg academically or in to their program. She has prescreen accept/pass to Texas State, Texas Tech, TCU, UCF, Indiana, Ball State, Rider, Wisc. SP, Temple, and Florida State. So, I guess it is 10, not 11. We are waiting on academic accept to Florida State (end of Jan), Rider (after audition), and Elon. Waiting on prescreen pass/reject from Elon by end of January. We will be at Chicago Unifieds and going on campus to TT, Texas State, Indiana, UCF, and Florida State. Ugh! Why did I let her apply to so many on campus auditions!

@DramaLove2020 and everyone else (like us) who are waiting on CCM. We called yesterday, and they are NOT done yet. We were told final notifications will go out by 12/24.

Thanks @PNWdrama , we were hoping to hear before the winter break.

@PNWdrama thanks - so on Xmas Eve… lol, can’t wait!

D got a PASS from Boston Conservatory today! Thank goodness, she needed the confidence boost. So far she only has one other pass (from Pace). She has had 3 deferrals to Acting and two hard no’s. It’s been difficult to hear that so many are passing most/all their prescreens, but to now have two difficult to pass prescreens under her belt, I hope this gives her the pick-me-up she needed to go into all her live auditions with confidence. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out in the end.

@NeensMom that’s great news! Don’t let CC postings get you down. Most people only post their passes and don’t share the no’s which is unfortunate. Trust me, the pass rate is not as high as it’s made out to seem here. All of these kids are so talented and they will find a home!

Keep in mind that the number of passes is not comparable between students as these students have different college lists.

In the end, the goal is to land some options, and the student can only attend one school anyway. So quantity is not that important here.

^ and to piggy back that thought, don’t get caught up in the game of comparing which schools your kid passed / rejected prescreens with others. It’s not linear. There’s no way to know what they want. Passing X and Y doesn’t mean you pass Z. D has had several rejections at schools her peers have passed yet passed several they’ve been rejected. Don’t try to figure it out. Just have the best auditions possible and see the choices those yield and then see if those are good programs for your kid. A Boco rejection may hurt today, but who cares if you still get to go to Point Park or BW or wherever provided you like those schools.

@NeensMom - as I have posted before, dont think for a second everyone is passing everything, its simply not the case. feel free to read my D experience & we are in GREAT shape currently with lots of pre screen " no"

@csuram1994 not to beat a dead horse but I dont think Ball state has a pre screen, we are scheduled to audition there at unifieds as well, great program!

So far DD has passed CMU, ECU, Elon, Emerson, FSU, Millikin, Point Park, Rider, Shenandoah, Texas Tech, Michigan & UWF but she did not pass Pace, Texas State or Ithaca. Still waiting to hear from CCM.

She feels very fortunate and so far this is the only place I am able to post her accomplishments as she is very private and doesn’t want to make others feel bad if they didn’t pass ones she did and vice versa.
