Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

Finally heard from CCM - MT today. It was a NO, which stings of course, but at the same time I’m a little relieved. We have no space left at Unifieds and I didn’t want to juggle auditions so late in this process.

S did pass CCM - Acting back in October, so that’s already on his schedule. Hopefully the rest of the CCM-in-waiting hear something soon too!

@ LadyMjolnir did you get an email? Or was it through get accepted?

That “no” from USC was about the kindest email my daughter has ever received!

@Dance3Looks3 I saw a screenshot of “the USC no email” and it was classy for sure. Sorry for your no though.

Good for USC for putting in the time and effort to craft a nice email!

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from USC or did all the emails go out at once?

@MTMom2024 I was relieved for the “no” at this point – she’s got plenty of passes and non-prescreen auditions scheduled and we are very much trusting the process at this point. Waiting on one more (Elon) before we have everything nailed down, and looking forward to maybe some walk-ins at Unifieds if she feels like that’s important.

We really are of the mind that the “worst case scenario” is both not all that bad and also unlikely. Helps keep us breathing easily and staying optimistic!

Well my full prescreen results are in and I thought I’d share here before moving on from this thread!

Yes:
Michigan
Carnegie
Coastal
Pace
Point Park
CCPA Roosevelt

No:
Syracuse
Otterbein
Depaul
CCM
Elon
Penn State

Redirect:
Emerson

With literally an even split of yes’s and no’s I started to get really concerned that I wasn’t going to fair well in the upcoming audition season. But I did three auditions early (Hartt, Baldwin Wallace, and Marymount Manhattan) and got a yes from Hartt, yes from MMC, and a waitlist from Baldwin Wallace, so going into my main audition season I’m getting a little more confident. I guess the lesson learned is prescreens really aren’t an indicator of audition season success! Good luck everyone! We’re all gonna do amazing

@MTDreamer01 congrats on the amazing results!

Congratulations, @MTDreamer01 !! Wow! You are well-positioned for sure.

I agree that pre-screens indicate absolutely nothing! My daughter had 2 of your same yeses but she got 2 nos where you got yeses, 3 of your same nos but one of your nos was a yes, and she got a yes from Emerson. It feels so random but at the same time, I trust the process! I’m so energized by your success and really happy you shared it. Break legs on all of your scheduled auditions!

Does anyone have info on combines at nyc unifieds?

We went through this process last year and when friends ask about the process for themselves we make sure we make it clear that it is not for the faint of heart. It’s a very personal process and as a mom I got to the point where I just wanted to beg them to love my baby. My son is a very specific type so we assumed he would have some trouble. In fact at one of his live prescreens the director said “I already have one of you, I’m not looking for another”. We cast a wide net. We were shocked he passed all prescreens but 2 so getting all his auditions in at unifieds was just not possible. We travelled to the campuses of his top schools to audition there and actually dropped one school off his list doing this. Also, the process is expensive. Application fees, test score fees, audition fees, travel, flights, rental cars, hotels and meals, etc. I would say the process for us probably cost upwards of 20,000. I told him there would be no gap year, as he is our 4th in college with another coming up behind him. It just wasn’t feasible. He went to unifieds with 3 bfa offers under his belt which took the pressure off those auditions. I have 3 in colleges and this was by far the most expensive and involved college process and we had a kid that was being recruited for
Athletics which is also another world. I was happy to be able to do this for him.

@mauidad I have heard the parents should get in line around 6 am and have their kids join later. My son isn’t doing it but that’s just what I have read.

I’ve actually heard 5 am.

5am?! I have so many thoughts. Waiting outside in the dark for almost two hours…is that even safe? I will definitely have to go to the bathroom at least twice if I’m waiting in line for 4 hours total. How do people do it?

It was an email with the subject line “CCM Auditions - Musical Theatre”

On subject of CCM auditions, we got an email today with audition day/time, but email says “be prepared to spend the entire day with us.” How can they expect that with other schools already on the schedule? What are others doing?

@DancerMTMom - I hope that means I hear something today - and I don’t even care what the answer is!!!

@DancerMTMom May I ask which day?
