I'm applying regular decision to Middlebury and was trying to fill out the pre-application. When it asks you preference on whether you would like to be admitted in September or February, I said I would prefer September and would not like to be considered for February term. Is this stupid? Would they take someone else over me who said they would be willing to enter in the February term?

Hey, you might find this helpful Advice From Current Febs

I think you should depend on your circumstances when deciding which one to select. I'm not sure about the effect on admission though.

I'm not an admissions officer, but if I were reading that, I'd be more inclined to take someone who was flexible, because it indicates that they really want to go to Middlebury, as evidenced by their willingness to sacrifice a few months of their life to do so. That's why I put that I'd prefer Sept. but would accept Feb.

You shouldn't think of Feb admission as sacrificing a few months. I wasn't a Feb, but all the Febs I knew took that time to do something interesting and exciting with their lives. Think of it as an opportunity rather than a sacrifice.

If you enter as a Feb, do you have to pay full tuition for that year?
